Types of Cosmetic Procedures
Cosmetic Facial Procedures
Beauty is but a lease from nature. – Edward Counsel, Maxims
Cosmetic facial procedures for both men and women can help to “renew your lease” or create a new look. With almost no downtime non-surgical procedures can minimize appearance of wrinkles, refill areas of deflation and lift soft tissue. These procedures can create both subtle and drastic improvements. Surgical procedures can performed under local or general anesthesia and can create lasting changes that improve your appearance and confidence.
The procedure also known as rhytidectomy, helps to remove the signs of aging caused by loose skin and descent from gravity. The goal is to restore facial contours avoiding an “over-done” appearance. This is performed with a combination of skin removal, lifting and restoring fat that atrophies with age using fat grafting.
Also known as a forehead lift, reduces the wrinkle lines that can develop across the forehead, nose bridge, and between the eyes. This popular procedure also fades the appearance of frown lines, the vertical lines that develop between the eyebrows. It also raises sagging brows and repositions them to appear brighter and more youthful.
Also known as a blepharoplasty, helps return a youthful appearance by tightening sagging or loose skin that create wrinkles and folds around the eyes. Eyelid surgery is also a corrective measure for tired appearing eyes with “bags”. Upper eyelid procedures can be performed under local anesthetic in the office.
Rhinoplasty & Septoplasty
A Rhinoplasty or “Nose Job” is performed for cosmetic or functional breathing issues. It is the second most common procedure performed by plastic surgeons around the country. As the central and most prominent part of the face small imperfections may make a person feel as if they are exaggerated. Surgery can help improve the many dimensions of the nose and in combination with other techniques such as chin augmentation with implants, fillers or fat may be reviewed to improve facial balance. Nasal breathing can improve with septal surgery and may be covered by insurance.
Botulinum toxin sold as as Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are injected to improve the appearance of lines or rhytides along the forehead, around the eyes and mouth. This treatment can also create an appearance of a brow lift. Fillers including Juvederm, Restalyne and Voluma can be used to augment cheeks, noses, lips and chins. They can also be used to fill deeper lines where botox may not be completely effective. Dr. Sayeed uses local anesthetics and topical medication to make these procedures more comfortable
